The Swing Matters
Following the elegance of the Galloping Horse sculpture, the new technical challenge for Rémi Brun is to master the movement of a golf swing using the same method used for the horse.
The gesture itself, the speed and its elusiveness are engraved in the immobile and permanently solid matter of the wire trajectories. Each metal trajectory, bent, welded together reflects a movement already made, that is independent from the successive stages of luminosity from the light diodes. The golf swing plan suddenly becomes a physical reality, as does the steadiness of the golfer’s head held in a fixed position, the twisting movement of the torso and the balancing of the pelvis that become clearly tangible.
Once again it is impossible to describe or present the sculpture. It is while watching the sculpture in motion that it comes to life and imposes itself by its real movement.
